The Acropolis (Acropolis Series)

Book Blurb:

"We have a new assignment for you, Mr. Reinhardt."

These words are not comforting to me. At eighteen, I am a gargoyle who has been demoted because I broke the rules. Now I have a new mission, a new mark to protect. But I don't expect Emma Chase. I don't expect to question my own race. I don't expect to care for my own mark. And I am not prepared for what I find at The Acropolis.

Warning: Due to language, this book is suggested for Young Adults 16+

My Thoughts:

The Acropolis is the first installment of the Acropolis Series by R.K. Ryals. This is actually a spin-off series of The Redemption Series by the same author. If you've been reading my past few posts, you'll know how much I loved The Redemption Series! I am absolutely a fan of it! And because of that I have very high expectations for The Acropolis. I must say that the fans of The Redemption Series will NOT be disappointed! It is definitely a MUST READ!

The Acropolis is all about Connor whom we first known in The Redemption Series as Dayton's best friend and in this book we'll also get to know the very fragile Emma.

In this book, you'll get to know more about Connor in a much more deeper sense. It was very in depth that you cannot help but fall in love with him. He's the epitome of what we all want in our guy! He's protective and extremely loyal. The best part is he loves fiercely.

Emma, is a girl who had been dying for the past 6 years... or so she thought! The truth is she's not sick at all. She's just different. She's a very nice character to get to know. She's fragile and yet in her heart she's strong. I love knowing her.

I absolutely loved reading about Connor and Emma's romance. It was not rushed! It was a process. The chemistry was there and I loved how their romance unfolded little by little. It was very natural and I loved every minute of reading their interactions. It was very sweet and funny and at times sexy without forcing it. The feelings that Emma and Connor have for each other was presented well which makes it more enjoyable for the readers.

The pacing of the story was done well. The author didn't dragged the mystery of what Emma really is. It was revealed at the right time which makes it pretty exciting and not annoying nor irritating at all.

I also loved how Ms. R.K. Ryals developed the world that Emma and Connor lived in. It was pretty fantastic how she could create a very different world that is so not in our reality. Ms. R.K. Ryals has a way with using words that turns into sentences that paints a picture for us to see inside our heads. She has a way with words that is so vivid which makes this read so much better and enjoyable and even more heartfelt!

Overall, I absolutely loved this book! And I recommend this to all the book lovers who wants a quality book that has the ability to take you in a very different reality! I would recommend this book to the adventurous people who wants their romance to be as natural as it can be.
